The Realm of Joroin
Each year is 424 days long
Each year contains seven seasons (Birth, Spring, Growth, Summer, Harvest, Autumn, Slumber)
Each season is 60 days long
Each season contains two 30 day months (Day & Night) (as opposed to day & night referring to light and dark times of day)
Each year ends with a four day window of time that is not part of any season (Winter)
Birth – The ground is hard at the start of this season, but it begins to grow warmer. Snow is still common for the first month. Animals tend to birth heavily throughout this season, and in the late second month, plants begin to sprout and bud, although there is still some danger of frost.
Spring – The days continue to warm and the ground thaws. There are bustling winds in the first month. In the second month, rivers are flooded with meltwater and all danger of frost has passed. Rains are common. Trees and flowers blossom throughout both months of the season. Most planting occurs in this season.
Growth – The sun has warmed the land, and snow only remains in the highest mountains. Crops are nourished by the generous light, while previous floods have left ample supplies of water to support their growth. In the second month, the ground dries, but bodies of water are still full.
Summer – The sun is at its most blistering heat during these months, causing grass to dry and crops to ripen quickly. Rivers and other bodies sink to their lowest levels during this season. Rain is uncommon, and grassfires are all too common, fanned by the scalding winds of these months.
Harvest – The parching of the sun begins to diminish, and cool winds return by the second month of harvesting. Rains are not common, but more frequent than in Summer. Almost all crops are harvested in this season, which ends with the coming of cold rains from the North.
Autumn – The air grows chill, and trees begin to drop their leaves. The first frosts appear, though it is not uncommon for warmer days to be scattered throughout the first month. Snow usually begins to fall during the second month of this season, and the ground is hard by the end of it. Smaller bodies of water begin to freeze over, and many animals seek warm dens and burrows in which to sleep away the coming season.
Slumber – Snows are common in this season. The ground is often blanketed in white in all but the warmest southern regions of Joroin. Travel by sea is dangerous. Travel by land is slow. Animals hibernate through this season, with a few exceptions. Almost all bodies of water are frozen, save the great oceans.
Winter – This period of time is not considered a part of the calendar. During the four days that are not days that compose it, the spirits of the dead have been known to roam freely across the land. Travel comes to a stop, and the citizens of Joroin largely remain in their homes.

*the concept of this calender were swiped from another campaign on obsidian portal (LadyDM – Desire and Derision), I have modified it a good amount but it was too cool to not give credit where credit was due.
